England's Coach Southee Uncertain on Ashes Participation

England's bowling consultant Tim Southee is still working through the extent of his role will be during the upcoming Ashes series in the host nation.
The former New Zealand pace bowler is expected to be present for the first Test due to his involvement in the ILT20 tournament, which starts on December 2 in the United Arab Emirates.
Southee, 36, assumed a position as the English team's pace bowling advisor in the summer after taking 391 wickets in 107 Tests for the Kiwis.
Speaking as the English squad for the opening of three Twenty20 games against New Zealand was announced, he stated of his participation: "We are still evaluating the situation at the present time.
"We'll see the outcome over the coming days."
English bowling legend Broad had stated the Australia side as their "worst team since 2010", but the consultant was in little doubt over the anticipated challenge during the series, which starts on 21 November.
"In my view there's ever a bad Aussie side," he remarked.
"The team's attention is squarely on our own objectives. In my opinion the quality of [the English] side that's heading out to the host country is excellent.
"It ought to be an absolute cracker, that series. Not just [are|do] English and Australian people looking forward to it, I believe the entire cricketing community is."
However, before England head to Perth for the opening Ashes Test, they face New Zealand in the city of Christchurch on Saturday.
