Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
