Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Undergo MPs' Inquiry After Allegations of Prejudice in Disclosed Memorandum
We start with questions from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, that oversees the group.
She commences by providing background to the unauthorized memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and published in the Telegraph.
"I don't want the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I simply desire it neutral, impartial and equitable," he declares.
When asked if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, Prescott responds: "No, I do not. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC creates is world class - both informative and entertainment shows."
However, he continues: "There remains significant effort that must be undertaken at the BBC."
The second ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation consultant examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "continuous process and active debate" on fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Whether the BBC was ready to have a genuine discussion and argument and take action?" she questions. "From my perspective, affirmative, they were."
