New information has come to light concerning the shocking passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account quoting a family associate, a practitioner scheduled for an session initially became concerned after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her contacted 911. Subsequently, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Clarifications

The anonymous source challenged several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Furthermore disputed widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Details

Per law enforcement officials, the coroner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
