Passionate fans of the actress are demanding that a individual who breached a barrier and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared clip reveals the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and charging at Grande while the actors walked down a event pathway surrounded by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the stunned star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by guards.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
History of Incidents
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a performance. His Instagram feed features clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at Katy Perry's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is evidently a punishable act," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Safety
Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more message on Instagram.
A number of fans also faulted guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while some called for social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.
Response and Event Details
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.
Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.
Many of attendees had assembled in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it started.
The film, to be launched on November 21, is the sequel of a dual interpretation of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the unexpected relationship between two contrasting characters.
The show itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.
They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful film of the previous year in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
